Add a link to an Instagram Story

Use the link sticker to make your assessment tappable in an Instagram Story.

Stories are the only Instagram format with a tappable link outside your bio. Since Instagram removed the follower threshold in late 2021, every account has access to the link sticker — no verification, no minimum follower count.

Take advantage of this free call-to-action tool!

Before you start

Copy your Social link from your Opaline admin.

Add a link sticker to your Story

  1. On your Instagram home feed, tap your profile photo in the top-left corner.

  2. Take a photo or video, or upload one from your camera roll.

  3. At the top of the screen, tap the sticker icon.

  4. Tap Link.

  5. In the URL field, paste your Opaline Social link.

  6. Tap Customize sticker text and enter a short call to action.

  7. Tap Done.

  8. Drag the sticker into position, and pinch to resize it.

  9. Tap Your Story to publish.

Write sticker text that gets taps

The sticker shows a truncated URL by default, which reads as spam and gets ignored. Replacing it with a short label dramatically improves tap rates — especially if it's a clear, simple call-to-action.

  • Take the Assessment

  • Get Your Skin Score

  • Find Your Treatment Plan

  • Tap to Start

Keep it to two or three words and lead with a verb.

Position and style the sticker

  • Place it in the middle or lower third of the frame — that's where thumbs naturally land. Avoid the very top and bottom edges, where Instagram's own profile icon and message bar can overlap it.

  • Tap the sticker to cycle through color options and pick one that contrasts with your background. A sticker that blends into the image doesn't get tapped.

  • Leave the Story frame up for at least four to six seconds so viewers have time to notice and tap.

You can only add one link sticker per Story frame. If you want to promote two things, use two frames.

Make the link permanent with a Highlight

Stories disappear after 24 hours, but a Highlight keeps yours on your profile.

  1. While the Story is live, tap the three-dot icon.

  2. Tap Highlight.

  3. Save it to an existing Highlight, or create a new one.

Create a Highlight called Assessment or Start Here so new visitors can find it any time.

Best Practice: Use this during launch week
